Why is smoke odor removal necessary?  Smells literally become trapped in walls, ceilings and furnishings. Here’s how it happens: Heat from fire, or the superheated air from smoke, opens “pores” at the molecular level of materials. They fill with smoke, and then when the air cools the pores close again. Now the smoke odor is trapped. Any warmth will release the trapped odor molecules.

The temperature of the fog is increased, which opens the pores again. Once the pores are open thermal fogging neutralizes the odor molecules. Another very effective treatment option is an ozone generator.  Ozone generators are “smoke eaters”. Ozone cleans, or “eats” at the odor molecules, which breaks them up. In the case of a heavy amount of smoke damage, the generator is set to produce high levels of colorless gas – or "shock treatment." After some hours or perhaps a day, your smoke odor removal is complete. We cannot employ this technique in occupied spaces. If the lingering smell is mild, the ozone levels are milder than shock treatment. Even so, the ozone will eliminate fumes, as well as the smell of mold or decomposition. It will even eliminate the deposits from heavy cigarette smoke.
